Martha Valenta’s four-piece polyptych, Record Playa, will be featured at the group exhibition Young Hearts Run Free at Red Gate Gallery. Drawing from her Gen X roots, this nostalgic artwork remixes her earlier piece originally exhibited in the Childhood Revisited series (Sheldon Art Gallery, 2022). Record Playa invites viewers into her 1980s childhood memories, exploring themes of nostalgia, identity, and the enduring power of music and culture from our formative years.
Attention Disco
Attention Disco at Central Library Step into an immersive journey that explores the ADHD experience through interactive art.
"Attention Disco" is Martha Valenta’s solo, immersive art show. It will be held in the Carnegie Room on the third floor of the Central Library on Olive in St. Louis. Running all through June during regular library hours, this exhibit offers a unique blend of sensory experiences. This art show is designed to validate the ADHD experience, offering both personal reflection and a broader understanding for everyone who visits. Imagine a night out where art not only dazzles your eyes but also speaks to the heart, creating a space for empathy and self-compassion.
