"Record On Repeat" delves into the ADHD tendency to find comfort, focus, and stimulation through repetition, as represented by the act of playing the same song over and over. Inspired by this ADHD tendency, I’ve written a companion song to this piece with the same title. The artwork's circular composition and vibrant, concentric lines evoke the mesmerizing and almost hypnotic effect that repeated listening can have on the ADHD brain.

The lyrics of my song capture this feeling:

Record on repeat (on repeat).
Spinning 'round and 'round, the vinyl never stops,
Hypnotic rhythms, like my thoughts that never drop,
The needle finds the groove, and I find my peace,
In the repetition, my mind's at ease…

Through this visual representation, I aim to normalize and celebrate the unique ways in which individuals with ADHD find joy, regulate their emotions, and enhance their concentration in a world that often demands conformity to neurotypical standards. The warm, energetic colors in the piece reflect the sense of excitement and engagement that comes from fully immersing oneself in a beloved piece of music.

The record adapter is a nod to my Gen X roots, connecting past and present through a timeless symbol of musical repetition. Just as the song repeats its rhythms, the artwork invites viewers to embrace their own unique ways of finding peace and focus. In the loops and lines, one can leave their cares behind and find their own way to shine every single day.
